Rich Renik is a native Chicagoan, who has balanced two parallel careers. Since his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1970, Rich has gained over seventy years of combined leadership and communications experience in the corporate world and in radio broadcasting.
As a leader in corporate leadership positions for Illinois Bell/ Ameritech/ SBC for nearly thirty-three years, Rich created successful organizations that served as models for the changing telecommunications company – and brought new employee focused philosophies to young managers.
Rich is a subject matter expert on labor relations having participated in more than 75 labor grievances and around 25 arbitrations – having never lost a case for the company.
Rich is also a fixture in Chicago radio as a weekend on-air personality, with shows airing on such stations such as WMAQ-AM (NBC), where he performed for thirteen years, and WUSN-FM (CBS) for fifteen years. Rich can also be heard as the voice for the Illinois Department of Transportation Traffic Information radio system as well as the announcer of Comcast’s “Pro-Football Weekly” with Dan Hampton.
Rich has also recorded a CD of "Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus", backed with "The Night Before Christmas". All proceeds are donated to various charitable organizations every year.
Rich is also a published author. In 2004, Rich wrote a leadership book, entitled, "Engaging Employees in the Business of Success", which is available on the World Wide Web - including Amazon.com. This comprehensive guide is the result of the knowledge he gained as a successful visionary to his many large organizations.
Rich shares his insight through leadership seminars and is active in public speaking, training and consulting.
As a professional Master of Ceremonies, Rich remains active in hosting large public events, meetings and concerts throughout Midwest Illinois.
Rich is married to Barbara and lives in Orland Park, and - is the proud Grandfather of eleven children !
While his principle hobbies are SCUBA diving, sky diving, and radio broadcasting, his passion remains sharing his knowledge of leadership techniques and helping others in, “Engaging Employees in the Business of Success”.
